Brian Sanhaji has been shaping the Frankfurt techno continuum for more than two decades, always stripped down, always precision built.
Cutting his first loops on an Amiga 500 in the mid-1990s, Sanhaji was deeply influenced by nights at Frankfurt’s legendary Omen Club, which left a lasting mark on his understanding of techno’s physical and functional essence.
He debuted in 2000/01 as Relic on Triebtäter. The raw, loop driven tracks quickly gained attention in the international scene, with DJ Rush playing them heavily and helping spark Sanhaji’s early momentum. Around the same time, he founded his first label Enable Recordings, releasing both his own productions and music by established names such as The Advent and Andre Walter.
By 2005, he was a fixture on Chris Liebing’s CLR roster, taking his modular driven live sets from the legendary U60311to Detroit’s Movement Festival and Berghain club in Berlin.
In 2008, he released his debut album Stereotype on CLR, a versatile, club focused record rooted in minimal and dub infused techno. A string of club staples followed, notably “Liftoff,” “Higgs,” “Daria,” and “Split”, his collab with Drumcell, each marked by sub heavy grooves and meticulous sound design.
He also delivered a standout remix for “The Knife” featuring Douglas McCarthy, further showcasing his ability to reinterpret vocal driven material through a stripped, pressure filled techno lens.
In the 2010s, he launched EgoTon, a label focused on raw, loop based techno tools for the floor.
In 2016, he established SENSOR MUSIC in Berlin as a home for his own productions and likeminded artists, pushing a clinical, hypnotic aesthetic.
His second album, Amount of Contour (2020), a modular live album, distilled that vision, while 2024 singles “Conflict” and “Paradox” reinforced SENSOR’s reputation for uncompromising floor material.
In 2025, Sanhaji joined forces with Monoloc to launch their joint project FORMS, marking a new chapter with the debut EP EMPHAZE.
Over twenty five years, Brian Sanhaji has remained committed to functional minimalism, modular architecture, relentless low end weight, and an unwavering focus on pure techno momentum.
